About two hundred years old whiskey Johnny Walker will now come on the market in a paper bottle.

Diageo, one of the world’s largest liquor companies, owns this whiskey brand.

The company says that it will start trial of packaging made keeping in mind the environment from next year.

Johnnie Walker whiskey is usually sold in glass bottles.

But the company says that it is insisting on minimizing the use of plastic in all its brands.

Bottle making from glass also costs energy and increases carbon emissions.

To make paper bottles, the company is going to make another firm named Palpex.

This company will also make paper bottles for brands like PepsiCo and Unilever.

The company says that its paper bottle will be made of wood pulp and will be tested in 2021. These bottles can be fully recycled

The company hopes that customers will be able to send them directly for recycling.

Beverage companies are insisting on making paper bottles to reduce pollution.

Beer company Carlsberg is also in the process of making paper bottles.

However, the world’s largest beverage products company, Coca-Cola, says that it will not stop using plastic bottles because customers still like them.

Plastic free bottles

Diageo says that his bottled pulp will be made by pressing into the grooves and then baking it in the microwave.

These bottles will layer inside, which will ensure that the beverage is not mixed with paper.

Many cartons that are made of paper have a plastic layer inside so that the beverage does not come out.

But Diageo says that plastic will not be used in any way in his bottles.

Due to the damage to the environment, companies are under pressure not to use plastic in packing products.

According to an estimate, only 82 million tonnes of plastic was used for packing food and beverages in Europe alone in 2018.

Diageo says that she uses less than five percent plastic in her packing.

Although manufacturers of glass bottles are insisting on lower energy costs in production, they still emit large amounts of carbon.

There is a huge amount of energy spent in the operation of glass melting furnaces. Most furnaces run with natural gas. Sand and lime are melted in them.
