14 teams will play in ICC World Cup from 2027, T20 World Cup will be held every two years

This time there will be 16 teams in T20 World Cup. The eight-team Champions Trophy will be played in 2025 and 2029.

In the International Cricket Council’s next eight-year Future Tours Program (FTP), the T20 World Cup will be held every two years while 14 teams will participate in the 50-over World Cup from 2027. The ICC gave this information on Tuesday. Four seasons of the World Test Championship and two Champions Trophy will be played in the next round .

The ICC said after the board meeting, “The ICC Board today confirmed the schedule from 2024 to 2031 in which the Men’s Cricket World Cup and T20 World Cup will be played and the Champions Trophy will be held again.”

The ICC said, “The men’s World Cup will have 14 teams in 2027 and 2031, while the T20 World Cup will have 20 teams while 2024, 2026, 2028 and 2030 will have a 55-match tournament.” There are ten teams in it.

16 teams in T20 world cup

This time there will be 16 teams in T20 World Cup. Eight teams Champions Trophy will be played in 2025 and 2029. The ICC World Test Championship Finals will be played in 2025, 2027, 2029 and 2031. The schedule of the ICC women’s tournament has already been decided.

There will be two groups of seven teams each in the men ‘s World Cup and the top three teams will advance to the Super Six. This will be followed by the semi-finals and the final. The same format was also in the 2003 World Cup. There will be four groups of five in the T20 World Cup. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eights , followed by the semifinals and the final .

The ICC Board also approved the process of determining the hosts of all men’s, women’s and Under-19 tournaments in the next round. The hosts of the men ‘s tournaments will be selected in September while the hosts of the women ‘s tournaments and T20 tournaments will be selected in November .
