Maharashtra: Google will provide online education tools to schools, crores of students will benefit

The company has entered into an agreement with the Maharashtra government under which Google services and tools required for online education will be made available in more than one lakh schools across the state.

All schools and colleges in India are currently closed due to Corona infection and students are studying through online mediums. Especially in schools, online education has expanded in every classroom and for this different tools and platforms are being used in schools. In such a situation, the world’s largest Internet company Google has extended a helping hand in India.

The company has entered into an agreement with the Maharashtra government under which Google services and tools required for online education will be made available in more than one lakh schools across the state. All these facilities will be made available free of cost by Google.

Tools like G Suite and Classroom will be provided for free

The situation in Maharashtra, the worst affected state of Corona virus, has not seen any improvement in the situation so far and schools are expected to remain closed for some more months to come. In such a situation, the state government and Google have partnered with the aim of making online education easily accessible to all.

Under this, Google will make tools like G Suite for Education and Google Classroom available in these schools. This step will benefit about 2.5 crore students and teachers of Maharashtra.

The company’s head of education (India and South Asia) Bani Pantal Dhawan recently announced this partnership in an online streaming. Along with this, the company will also help teachers to meet their training and other needs. The company is also going to make its ‘Teach from Home’ hub available in Marathi language for schools.
