With this decision, more than 12,300 students studying in government schools in Ladakh will be given free tablets. Out of which 1 thousand are in Kargil and about 3500 in Leh division. In Ladakh too, the lockdown has been extended till June 7 due to rising corona cases and there is no possibility of it ending soon.
Along with this, it has also been announced to provide V-sat facilities in all blocks and to start installation of towers of telecom companies to overcome the problems caused by lack of internet to the students in the inaccessible areas of Ladakh.
The problem of students living in the remote areas of Ladakh was raised on a large scale, especially in the border areas with China and Pakistan, where mobile internet facility is not being provided due to security reasons.
After this, the head of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Tashi Gyalsan visited many border areas and got information from the people about the war being fought against Corona due to lack of internet and the impact on education. of.

According to Gyalson, the contracts of BSNL, Airtel and Jio were stopped in some areas after the skirmish with China in the Galvan Valley last year. Therefore, there was a delay in starting internet services in these areas. Due to this delay, today children are facing difficulties for online classes.
But now the central government and the state administration together have become active once again and by the end of June, efforts will be made to provide 4G internet services to the people in the entire state. Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal expressed hope.
Demand to start internet services soon
People, especially students, are facing difficulties in Kargil and Dras in Ladakh due to this problem. Ghulam Mohammad Ansari, the councilor of Barsu, Kargil, met Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur and urged him to start internet services in the area at the earliest. In these areas, children are still forced to take online classes in areas with several kilometers of internet.
