Maruti Suzuki India to Make Heavy Investment in Haryana

Gurugram, 19 May: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that Haryana was once the center of agriculture, but along with agriculture, the state has progressed in industry and today it has become a world wide investor friendly destination. On the completion of 40 years of Maruti Suzuki’s journey, the Chief Minister said that Japan and India’s ties go back 70 years and he wished that these relations continue to grow stronger and move forward. The Chief Minister was speaking at the MoU signing program for allotment of land for the plants of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) and Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited to be set up at Industrial Model.

The MoU was signed between Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL)/Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited. New plants of Maruti Cars and Suzuki Motorcycles are to be set up in Kharkhoda on 800 acres and 100 acres respectively. He said that an MoU was signed even 40 years ago, which played a big role in changing the picture and destiny of Haryana’s development. A new agreement was signed today in which 900 acres of land was authorized through Haryana State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation and this land was handed over to Maruti Suzuki today. In the program Rs 2400 crore has been given to Haryana through HSIIDC. For the first time in the history of Haryana, such a big transaction has happened. This agreement will write a new script of development in Haryana. He said that with the establishment of the plant, 13,000 people would get employment opportunities. 2400 crore land has been taken for the plant and more than 20 thousand crore rupees are to be invested. The Chief Minister said that Gurugram developed because of Maruti. Due to these, the automobile industry grew inside Gurugram, many companies came here. The Chief Minister requested RC Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki, that the corporate office of Maruti, which is still in Delhi, should also be shifted to Haryana. He said that we have given all kinds of facilities to the industry. We have also started providing facilities for services.

Sonipat plant’s production capacity will be 10 lakh units annually in 8 years

Maruti Suzuki India Chairman RC Bhargava said the capacity of their new manufacturing facility in Haryana will reach an all-time high of 10 lakh units per annum in the next eight years. For this, the company will invest a total of Rs 18 thousand crore on the plant. This is Maruti’s third manufacturing plant in the state. This factory is being set up in an area of ​​800 acres at IMT Kharkhoda in Sonipat district. The company will invest a total of Rs 11,000 crore in its first phase and will have a production capacity of 2.5 lakh units per annum. At an event organized for the formal announcement of land allotment to the auto sector company, Maruti Chairman RC Bhargava said the production capacity of one million at the Sonepat plant would help meet the demand of domestic as well as export markets. He said that considering the market conditions, we will be able to reach the maximum production in the next eight years. After this, the Sonipat plant will become the largest production plant with a capacity of one million vehicles.
