4 more states including Jammu and Kashmir joined in One Nation One Ration Card Scheme

One Nation One Ration Card Scheme has been targeted to be implemented across the country by 31 March 2021. After that the people of the entire country will be able to get government ration of their quota from anywhere in the country.

Now the time of fulfilling the dream of buying your food grains from the same ration card anywhere in the country is slowly approaching. Almost every month, some new state is being associated with this scheme. Today, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and 3 states joined this scheme.

Connected with Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand Scheme

Apart from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, 3 states where One Nation One Ration Card Scheme has been implemented from today. They include Uttarakhand, Manipur and Nagaland. Now the people of the remaining states living in these states will be able to take their allotted grain from the government ration shop through their home state’s ration card. Similarly, people of these 4 states already living in the states already included in this scheme will also be able to get their share of government ration.

No need for new ration card

One feature of this scheme is that there is no need to create a separate ration card to the beneficiaries. For example, if a native of Uttar Pradesh is living in Maharashtra due to a job or for some reason, then with his original ration card, he can take the government ration of his quota in Maharashtra as well. For this, only his ration card needs to be connected to the Aadhar card.

The scheme will be implemented across the country by 31 March

This scheme has been targeted to be implemented across the country by 31 March 2021. After that the people of the entire country will be able to get government ration of their quota from anywhere in the country. However, sources in the Food Ministry say that by the end of this year, efforts are being made to implement it across the country.

Which states are included?

The scheme has been implemented in 24 states and union territories. These states are Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Karnataka, Nagaland, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur and Dadar Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu. This means that the ration card holders of these states can take ration of their quota from anywhere in these states.

With the implementation of the scheme in these states, about 65 crores, ie 80 per cent of the beneficiaries have started getting its benefits. We know that the One Nation One Ration Card Scheme is for those 81 crore people of the country who get cheap food grains under the National Food Security Mission.
