Corona increased speed, lockdown returned to Bengal, Center vs Kejriwal again in Delhi

The number of corona patients in the country has reached close to 34 lakhs. State governments are frightened by the unbridled pace of Corona. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has extended the dates of the lockdown, so the Kejriwal government and the central government are face to face regarding testing.

Let’s start with the corona figures. According to the Worldometer, the total number of patients in the country is 33 lakh 84 thousand 575, in which 61 thousand 694 people have died. So far, 25 lakh 83 thousand 63 people have been cured from Corona, while there are more than 7 lakh 39 thousand active cases.

In view of the fast pace of Corona, the West Bengal government has increased the lockdown that takes place in the week. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced new dates. There will be lockdown in Bengal on 31 August, 7 September, 11 September and 12 September. However, the government has allowed domestic flights, giving relief to the people of Kolkata.

At the same time, allegations and counter-allegations have started again between the Kejriwal government and the Center regarding testing. The allegations by Delhi Health Minister Satinder Jain have been rejected by the Home Ministry. Satender Jain had said that the central government is preventing 20 thousand to 40 thousand tasting daily. The Ministry of Home Affairs called it a lie.

In a tweet by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it said, ‘The Health Minister of Delhi wrote a letter to the Union Home Secretary on 27 August, saying that the Center is preventing the extension of testing in Delhi. The officers of Delhi government are being pressurized. These allegations are false and baseless.

The Home Ministry said, ‘Corona situation in Delhi has improved significantly. This has been possible due to increasing testing and other measures. Only after the intervention of the Union Home Minister, 18,000 tests are being done daily in Delhi, which was an average of around 4,000 per day till the middle of June.
