Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that the operations of trains have been postponed due to the Amfan cyclone in Odisha.

According to ANI news agency, Railways said that Bihar is not allowing more than 50 trains per day, whereas the requirement is 200 trains per day. Other states have approved very few trains, such as Chhattisgarh only 19 trains, Rajasthan only 33 trains and Jharkhand only 72 trains.

He said that Odisha has suspended trains in coastal areas due to the cyclone and no trains are going to Ganjam district.

Importantly, the process of running Shramik special  trains involves the acceptance of states of origin (from where to walk) and destination (where to reach). If a train has to travel from Gujarat to West Bengal, both the states will have to give their approval.

The railway is running special trains after allowing the movement of stranded civilians, including migrants laborers, laborers, students, tourists, to take off between lockdowns.
