Bihar floods, Darbhanga AIIMS delay: Leaders express concern, journalists discuss migration and industrialization

Correspondent, Delhi: The leaders, who attended the three-day Maithili Natya Sahitya Mahotsav organised by the Maithil Journalist Group in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Kala Kendra and Maithili Bhojpuri Academy Delhi government on March 27-29, expressed concern over the annual floods in Bihar and the delay in the second AIIMS being built in Darbhanga.

The leaders said that the Center and Bihar government will have to work together on this. To prevent floods, a tripartite committee will have to be formed with the participation of Nepal-Indian government as well as Bihar government. Such a committee has been running in Nepal on paper for decades. But he is not doing any work on the ground.

Delhi MLAs Rituraj Jha, Sanjeev Jha, Darbhanga MP Gopal Ji Thakur, Bihar Water Resources Minister Sanjay Jha, former Vice President of Maithili Bhojpuri Academy Neeraj Pathak, National School of Drama (NSD) Director Ramesh Chandra Gaur, Congress Secretary Pranav Jha, BJP Kisan Morcha’s Manoj Yadav and BJP’s National Media Co-incharge Sanjay Mayukh presented their views on the development and current situation in Bihar-Mithilanchal. On this occasion, two plays written by Roshan Kumar Jha, Bauki and Bijho were also staged. In which through satire on the evils of Bihar, people were forced to discuss about these old evil practices still in vogue.

Dr. N. Vijay Lakshmi, an IAS officer of Bihar cadre and Joint Secretary in the Government of India, enthralled everyone by presenting an adorable Bharatnatyam dance on Ganesh Vandana on this occasion.

On this occasion, a seminar was also organized on the development of Bihar-Mithilanchal. Senior journalists like Priyanarjan, Prabhas Jha, Ritesh Pathak, Sujit Thakur, Ishwar Nath, Rakesh Kumar, Manoj Mishra spoke on the occasion. It was conducted by senior journalist Dr. Rahmatullah. These speakers said that for the development of Bihar-Mithilanchal, employment and production units have to be increased in the state. Home and cottage industries will also have to be speeded up. Like developed states, the industry has to be attracted by making a single window system. On this occasion, a special premium of NBT Editor Sudhir Mishra’s short film Goular Ka Phool was also made.

Bihar Water Resources Minister Sanjay Jha said that the central government needs to form an authority with the Bihar government and the Nepal government to effectively prevent floods every year. It should have a fixed tenure. Big dams should be built in the rivers here. So that the flood stopped. “Nepal is a different country. In such a situation, it is necessary for the central government to come forward.

He said he was the Water Resources Minister and was shocked to see that a paper committee has been working on this issue for years. It also has an office in Nepal. Indian officials are also reportedly stationed there. But there is nothing in reality. He said that if the central government helps in preventing floods in Bihar, then there can be a lot of employment there. This will also stop migration.

Darbhanga MP Gopal G Thakur said former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had set up the National Makhana Research Institute in Darbhanga. But the government after him lowered his national standard. Due to which the makhana industry suffered damage. He is working to get it national status again. Describing the Darbhanga airport as a symbol of development of Mithilanchal and Bihar, he said that there is a need to expand it. For this, he is working. He thanked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for giving several trains to Mithilanchal and also demanded a Rajdhani train and Vande Bharat for the region. He said that the bridge built to connect Nirmali-Saharsa should be named Atal Setu. Expressing grief over the delay in giving land by the Bihar government for the second AIIMS in Bihar, which is to be built in Darbhanga, he said that the state government should take immediate action on this. It should not happen that due to this delay of the Bihar government, this AIIMS will go to another state. While this AIIMS is going to prove to be a boon for the eight crore population here as well as the people of Sikkim and Nepal. This will also reduce the pressure on Delhi AIIMS by almost half.

BJP’s national media co-incharge Sanjay Mayukh said that there are many languages in Bihar. Everyone has their own importance and history. Maithili is included in the sweetest languages. He said that the Maithil Journalist Group is continuously organizing programs to save its language, culture, customs. The way its members are doing this work even after joining the heterogeneous and system-like genre like journalism. He is amazing. He said that after the formation of the Narendra Modi government at the Center, all the development works have been done in Bihar. That has not happened before. From the second bridge on the Ganga to the new rail line and other government schemes, the implementation has increased in Bihar. He said that he is committed to work for every person of Bihar and Mithilanchal as an MLC.

 

Delhi MLA Sanjeev Jha, who is also the vice-president of Maithili Bhojpuri Academy, said that the Delhi government is ready to cooperate at every level for the promotion and development of Maithili and Bhojpuri in Delhi.

He said that for the development of Bihar-Mithilanchal, it is necessary for the industry to come there. For this, Bihar and central government should work together. The Delhi government is also ready to play its role in this.

MLAs Rituraj Jha and Neeraj Pathak said that we come from a culturally conscious state. It is the duty of every educated person here to think about what role we can play in the development of Bihar.

Congress secretary Pranav Jha praised the Maithil journalist group and said that their efforts to save their language, culture, folk art and tradition are commendable. This is because of when language survives. At the same time, culture will survive. It also protects our history. Because journalists create public opinion. In such a situation, this initiative is more important on his behalf because he conveys his point to the public fast and strongly.

 

During this program, Along with Mallorang (Maithili Folk Color) Natya Group, Maryada, Jai-Johar, Ashtadadal Kala Academy etc. performed. Its artists kept the audience engaged for three days with their plays, ghazals, songs and music. The program was directed by Prakash Jha. Brijendra Nath, Sanjeev Sinha, Vidyanath Jha, Roshan Kumar, Deepak Kumar Jha, Bhavesh Nandan, Ajay Paswan, Rakhi Kumari, Pratibha Jyoti, Madan Jha, Pramod Kumar Jha and Guddu ji assisted him in the program. Speaking on the occasion, Santosh Thakur, President, Maithil Patrakar Group, thanked all the guests and said that the sole aim of this group is to move away from politics and bring enlightened and effective people on one platform for the development of Bihar and Mithilanchal. So that a collective decision can be made and cooperation can be achieved in accelerating the development of Bihar and Mithilanchal. That is why we invite leaders and representatives of every party to our program. The reason for this is that these policy makers can together develop Bihar. The enlightened section of the society can give their views and they can start working on it.
