The Congress says that the amount of Rs 50,000 declared as ex-gratia to the families of those who died of Covid-19 is just a joke. The central government should give Rs 5 lakh to the victim’s family.

New Delhi (ANI). The Congress has once again surrounded the central government regarding the ex-gratia amount of Rs 50,000 to the families of those who died of Covid-19. Congress party’s national spokesperson Supriya Shrinet told news agency ANI on Thursday that the Congress party demands Rs 5 lakh to the families of those who have lost their lives due to corona virus. Due to this corona virus epidemic, many children lost their parents and a large number of people became unemployed in the country. So the financial help of only Rs 50,000 by the central government to the family of the deceased person is just a joke. This will do them no good.

Provision to give Rs 4 lakh on death due to disaster

Apart from this, the Congress spokesperson, while targeting the central government, also said that after the intervention of the court, the government has announced to give 50 thousand rupees to the families of those who lost their lives due to Covid-19. The central government is not declaring corona virus infection as a disaster because according to the law, there is a provision of giving Rs 4 lakh on death due to disaster.
