Microsoft to lay off 10,000 employees, reduce number of offices

In such a situation, many big companies are already talking about firing people from the job. For this reason, Microsoft has now agreed to do this retrenchment.
Microsoft told the stock market on Wednesday that it has informed the laid-off employees. Some of them have been removed with immediate effect. The company said it is also making changes to its hardware department and will reduce the number of some of its office complexes leased out. These steps of the company will save about $ 1.2 billion.
Microsoft’s India-born CEO Satya Nadella, while interacting with its employees, said that the company will increase its price infrastructure in proportion to revenue and consumer demand. “Today, we are making changes that will reduce 10,000 workers by the end of the third quarter of the financial year 2022-23. This is less than five per cent of our total number of personnel. We know that this time is challenging for every concerned person. ’’
The affected employees will be given compensation payments, health facilities for six months, termination notices two months in advance, the company said.
Earlier, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp’s parent company Meta had laid off more than 11,000 employees in November last year. This number was about 13 percent of its total personnel.
Uncertainty in the global economy has forced companies to reduce spending and restructure operations. Meanwhile, Amazon is firing more than 18,000 employees.
