Publishers Start Gearing up for the World Book Fair 23

World Book Fair 2023: Ever since the National Book Trust announced the dates of World Book Fair 2023, the publishers across the length and breath of India, have started gearing up for the upcoming Book Fair. Due to Coronal Crisis, World Book Fair will be organized after 3 years. World Book Fair will be held from February 25 to March 5 in New Delhi. It will be organised in newly constructed halls numbers 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Pragati Maidan. National Book Trust director Yuvraj Malik has announced that the World Book Fair in Delhi will be held during the New Hall of Pragati Maidan. He said that this time the guest country for the World Book Fair is the Republic of France. French and other foreign literature will also be given exclusive spots. NBT Director Colonel also said that the World Book Fair is going back to physical mode after two years. There will be something very special in this. A lot of enthusiasm is also being seen among the publishers. France has been given guest country status.

Amrit Mahotsav is the theme of World Book Fair 2023. Importantly, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to commemorate and celebrate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. At the fair, there will be a series devoted to little-known heroes of freedom, as well as a chance to read and learn about literary works from the French and worldwide areas. Additionally, writers and literati from other countries will grace the occasion.

Welcome to National Book Trust of India - New Delhi World ...

Though the dates of World Book Fair 2022 were announced, but, later it was cancelled after the guidelines of Delhi Management Authority(DDMA) came in. In the previous year, i.e., in the year 2021 the Book Fair was organized virtually.

Due to Corona infection, it was organized virtually in the year 2021, then despite the announcement of dates in 2022, it had to be postponed due to the guidelines of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). According to NBT, the theme pavilion of the fair will be the center of special attraction. As many as 200 books written in the Unsung Heroes of Freedom Struggle, published by NBT will be displayed at World Book Fair 2023. Moreover, there will be several books available on National Education Policy.

India is the third greatest market for English-language literature with more than 12,000 publishing companies that annually publish around 90,000 titles in more than 18 languages. The bulk of India’s publishing output is in the various Indian languages. The NBT organizes this annual (previously biennial) event at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, India. Since 2013, New Delhi World Book Fair is organized by the NBT in association with India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) each year at Pragati Maidan.
