First historic flight since peace agreement in Israel and UAE

The first commercial flight between Israel and the United Arab Emirates began on Monday. After the announcement of the commencement of diplomatic relations between the two countries, it is considered to be a big step.

Officials from Israel and the United States reached the UAE after a three-hour journey on an al-plane from Israel. The aircraft was allowed to fly through Saudi Arabia’s airspace from where Israeli aircraft do not normally fly.

In flight number LY 971, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and his senior adviser Jared Kushner were accompanied by Israel’s national security adviser Mir Ben Shabbat.

The flight’s number is on the dialing code of the UAE. While the return flight number is LY 972, which is the international dialing code of Israel.

After the formation of Israel in the year 1948, the UAE is the third Arab country to have recognized Israel.

On Saturday, the United Arab Emirates struck down the law boycotting Israel, which had been in force since 1972.

In the same month, direct telephone service between the two countries has also been restored.

It is believed that President Trump’s senior adviser Jared Kushner held secret talks, which led to a settlement between Israel and the UAE.

Israel and Jordan officially recognized Israel before the UAE. A treaty was signed between Israel and Egypt in 1978, while Israel’s peace agreement with Jordan was reached in 1994.

The northwest African country Mauritania established diplomatic relations with Israel in 1999, but in 2010 it severed it. Mauritania is a member country of the Arab League.
