‘Global Anglo-Socio-Academic Award- 2022’ goes to Matt Purland
New Delhi, 21. 06.2022: ‘Global Anglo-Socio-Academic Award- 2022’ was conferred on Mr Matt Purland, international author and trainer from England in recognition of his contribution in the field of English Skills training and literary development. This award was given away online by British Lingua, a New Delhi-based institution of international repute, marking the occasion of International Yoga day.
“At times when altruism is a rara avis, Matt has continued to stand unswervingly as the supreme example of being an author and a trainer –both rolled into one. He deserves praise for his exemplary English language abilities, English Skills training, a journalistic flair for writing, yeoman’s social service and literary works.”, said noted author and British Lingua Managing Director Dr Birbal Jha while presenting the award as well as a citation on the day.
“We have every confidence in Matt that he will go forward and maintain the high standards he has set through writing more than 27 books over 20 years and imparting training to a significant number of people all over the world to slake their linguistic thirst.”, added Dr Jha, who is accredited with having created a revolution in English training in India with the slogan ‘English for all’.
“It is our firm belief that Matt’s indefatigable and unflinching commitment to the cause of English education, human rights and welfare will continue to bring optimism and shed a light on the darkness to the people around.”, reads the citation presented on the day.

Beginning his career as a lecturer at a training centre in Derby, United Kingdom, Matt, 49 from the UK has created a wealth of learning and teaching materials which are free to download and in the public domain, so that anybody can use them to learn, teach, make money, and improve their lives. His ‘Big Grammar Book’ has been downloaded over 4 million times for free. In addition, he has addressed dozens of seminars and workshops and imparted training in effective English skills to countless students over the years.
Matt, a qualified and successful trainer with teaching experience of over 20 years is blessed with soft skills to impress upon his audiences, including foreign nationals, as he holds a certificate in TESOL which stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and the prestigious Certificate in Education, among other notable qualifications.
