Indian Railways is launching Mission-160, will reach Delhi from Mumbai in just half a day
Indian Railways will now expedite Mission-160. Railways plan to run the train between Delhi and Mumbai at a speed of 160 kmph. At present, the speed of the train is only 130 km per hour.
It may seem like a dream to reach Mumbai from Delhi in half a day. But this dream is going to come true now. Indian Railways have decided to set this record as well. Now in just half a day i.e. 12 hours, you will reach Mumbai from Delhi. That means breakfast in Delhi and dinner in Mumbai.
Work on mission 160 started
Indian Railways will now expedite Mission-160 (Mission 160). Railways plan to run the train between Delhi and Mumbai at a speed of 160 kmph. At present, the speed of the train is only 130 km per hour. According to this, travelers can reach Mumbai from Delhi in just 12 hours. To complete this project as soon as possible, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has asked the Railway Board to meet every week to see the progress.
Fencing will be on both sides of the railway track
Railway officials say that fencing will be installed on the railway track to avoid an accident. Railways wants to ensure that there is no accident among trains running at a speed of 160 kmph. Deadline 2023 was laid to complete mission-160 first. But now the Union Railway Ministry has reduced this deadline to 2022. Now this project will be completed on fast track.
It is noteworthy that Indian Railways wants to run trains between Delhi to Mumbai and Delhi to Howrah at a speed of 160 km per hour. In both these destinations, the central government has allocated Rs 2,200 crore for fencing on both sides of the railway track.
