The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has increased the validity of driving license and motor vehicle documents to 31 December this year.

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has given a big relief to the drivers. The ministry has increased the validity of driving license and motor vehicle documents to 31 December this year. Earlier, the validity of these documents was increased from June to 30 September. This decision has been taken in view of the increasing spread of Corona virus in the country.

Valid will remain till 31 December 2020

According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, documents whose validity has expired after February 1, 2020 or will expire by December 31, 2020, such documents will be considered valid till December 31, 2020. The concerned authorities have been advised to consider these documents valid till 31 December 2020. Under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989, fitness, permits, licenses, registrations or other documents are mandatory.

Validity was also increased earlier

At the same time, this is not the first time in the year when the ministry has increased the validity of these documents. Earlier, on 30 March and 9 June, the Ministry also increased the validity of these documents. On 9 June this year, the validity of these documents was increased to 30 September 2020.

Such documents will be considered valid

According to the ministry, all documents related to vehicles whose validity has not been renewed or expected to renew due to the Corona virus epidemic, as well as documents whose validity has expired from February 1, 2020 Or it is going to expire by 31 December 2020, such documents should be considered valid by 31 December 2020.
