Bengal Election: EC’s new guidelines issued, order to reduce publicity time from filing a criminal case

The Election Commission has taken strict steps after seeing the increasing cases of Corona and open violation of the rules of Covid. After the all-party meeting, the Election Commission has reduced the period of campaigning in the remaining phases of the assembly elections in West Bengal. The Election Commission has said that the election campaign time has been limited to 7 pm. There will be no election campaign from 7 pm to 10 am.
In the same way, the period of stopping the noise of the campaign before the polling has also been increased from 48 hours to 72 hours. That is, now the campaign will stop three days before the voting. The new rules will apply in the three phases of voting that remain after the Saturday assembly elections in Bengal. With this, all political parties have been asked to present a better example to the public and also follow the Corona Guidelines themselves.

If any political party or any leader violates the rules, then the administration of the district will have the right to cancel the meeting or rally, road show and campaign.
The Central Election Commission has also asked politicians to encourage people to use masks and sanitizers while going to public meetings and rallies and set an example for themselves.
Although the Central Election Commission had issued guidelines related to this on April 9 as well, but there was no impact on the land. At political meetings and rallies, people were seen openly violating the guidelines issued regarding Corona.
