Madhubani DM’s  appeal: take advantage of Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme to get more and more youth of the district for higher education

Many boys and girls are unable to pursue higher education despite their desire. Due to lack of money, their desire to try something better dies. To help such poor students, the Government of Bihar launched a wonderful scheme Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme on 2 October 2016. To implement the BSCC scheme, the government has established the Bihar State Education Finance Corporation. So far, under this scheme, a large number of students of the district have taken advantage and made their dreams of higher education come true. The District Magistrate has appealed to all the inter-pass students of the district, especially the students appearing for the inter-examination this year, that they must take advantage of this scheme to get higher education after passing the examination. On his instructions, DRCC officials are visiting institutions and schools to make the beneficiaries aware, as well as guiding them. It may be noted that under this scheme education loan will be sanctioned up to a maximum of Rs 4 lakh. The amount of interest will not be payable on this loan amount for the moratorium period which is one year from the completion of the course or till maximum 6 months (whichever is earlier) of the applicant being employed. *The rate of simple interest on this loan amount will be 4 percent. Under this, loans will be made available to women, disabled and transgender applicants at the rate of only 1 percent simple interest.

What is the purpose of BSCC?

The state government wants to fulfill many objectives through the BSCC scheme.

First, she wants to improve the literacy rate in the state in terms of higher education. Majority of the students in the state drop out after 10th-12th.

Second, the government wants to promote the talent present in the state.

Thirdly, the government wants that the student should not have to go round the bank for the loan. The loan process is completed in this scheme in about one month and fifteen days. So far, a total of Rs 1134705994 (one billion thirteen crore forty seven lakh five thousand nine hundred ninety four) education loan has been made available to 7171 students for pursuing higher education.

So far, a total of 1134705994 (one billion thirteen crore forty seven lakh five thousand nine hundred and ninety four) education loans have been made available to 7171 students for pursuing higher education.
