New education policy: studies, examinations, report cards will all be major changes

New changes have been made in the education policy of the country after 34 years. The cabinet approved this new education on Wednesday. The new education policy has changed a lot from school bags, pre-primary classes to board exams, report cards, methods of UG admission, MPhil. Know here what has changed in the new education policy after so many years, how will it affect your child’s education?

The biggest feature of this policy is that school education, higher education as well as agricultural education, legal education, medical education and technical education have been brought under its ambit. Its main objective is to connect students directly to a life school along with studies.

Till now you have been studying art, music, craft, sports, yoga, etc. as a co-curricular or extra-curricular activity. Now these will be part of the main curriculum, they will not be called extra curricular activity.

Till now, someone was left in the middle of getting married or someone was ill. Now it is arranged that if for some reason the studies are missed in the middle semester, then you will get the benefit under multiple entry and exit system. Meaning if you have studied for one year then the certificate is for two years, then you will get diploma. Degree will be awarded after three or four years.

The government has decided that now 6 percent of GDP will be spent on education. Currently, 4.43% of India’s GDP is spent on education. At the same time, the name of the Ministry of Human Resource Development has now been changed to the Ministry of Education. This is also a big and significant change.

The commission has laid special emphasis on training of teachers. Obviously a good teacher prepares a better student. Therefore, for comprehensive improvement, it has been recommended to include teacher training and all education programs at the level of universities or colleges.

The government will now prepare a new National Curriculum Framework. ECE, schools, teachers and adult education will be added to it. Board exam will be divided into sections. Now to reduce stress on two board examinations, the board can also conduct three examinations.

Apart from this, now life skills will be added in the report card of children. As if you have learned some employment in school, then it will get a place in your report card. With which life skills will also develop in children. Till now there was no such provision in the report card.

The government aims to ensure education for every child by the year 2030. For this, the goal is to bring enrollment up to 100 percent. Apart from this, after the exit of school education, every child will also have a life skill. So that if he wants to start work in the field, then he can easily do it.

In the new National Education Policy 2020, the Common Entrance Exam will be offered by the National Examination Agency for admission to higher education institutions. According to the new National Education Policy (NEP), the National Testing Agency (National Education Policy, NEP) will now be given an additional charge for conducting entrance exams for admission to universities across the country. In which he can conduct the Common Entrance Examination for Higher Education.

NTA already conducts entrance exam for admission in Central Universities like All India Engineering Entrance Exam JEE Main, Medical Entrance Examination – NEET, UGC NET, University of Delhi (DUET), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNUEE).

It has been recommended to include Indian knowledge systems in the curriculum, formation of ‘National Education Commission’ and to prevent private schools from arbitrarily increasing fees. This National Education Commission will work to integrate the ancient knowledge systems of India with education in totality.

New arrangements have also been made for those going into research. They will be given the option of a 4-year degree program. That is, one year MA with three years degree will not require M. Phil. After this, you can go directly to PhD. This means that in the new education policy, the government has now said to completely eliminate MPhil.

In multiple disciplinary education, now you can take a subject other than one stream. That is, if you are doing engineering and you are also fond of music, then you can also study that subject together. Now according to the stream, there will be no emphasis on taking the subject. As before, the subject had to be selected according to the stream, now it will also change.

At primary level, importance has been given to inclusion of multilingualism in education and availability of language teachers who understand the home language of children. This problem is seen in various states at the national level. Therefore mother tongue should be used as a medium of instruction as far as possible from the first to the fifth. Where the language of home and school is different, it has been suggested to use two languages.

For the education of girls to continue, it has been suggested to provide them an emotionally safe environment. For this, the suggestion to expand Kasturba Gandhi Girls School to 12th is in the new Education Policy-2019.

U.S. On the lines of NSF (National Science Foundation), the government is bringing NRF (National Research Foundation) on the lines of NRF (National Science Foundation). It involves not only science but Social science will also be included. It will finance big projects. This will help the youth to come forward in research along with education.

The emphasis on working on language and mathematics in the first and second grade is included in the new education policy. Along with this, it has been said to focus on working on writing skills with the children of fourth and fifth classes. For this, events like language week, math week and language fair or math fair will be organized.

In this, it has been said to focus on making libraries live and other activities. For example, children can also learn from story telling, theater, group study, posters and displays. Emphasis is on teaching children through mediums other than books, it has also been considered necessary for the purpose of reducing the burden of children’s bags.

Curriculum will be prepared by NCERT for Early Childhood Care and Education. It will be developed for 3 to 6 year olds. In this, the National Mission on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy will be started for basic education (for 6 to 9 years).

For this, special provision has been made in the National Education Policy for Gifted Children and Girl Child. Apart from this, vocational study will be added to the policy from class 6 onwards.

The talk of encouraging the use of technology for the support of teachers is also included in the new education policy. For this, the use of various apps through computers, laptops and phones etc. has been said to make learning interesting.
