Along with the solar plant for energy, other facilities are to be provided in the planetarium along with the museum. It will have three main buildings. Planetarium, Auditorium and Orientation Hall. Along with this, there will also be cafeteria, lobby, children’s park, science gallery, service building and lotus pond. The exhibition in the gallery will be designed based on the evolution of the universe and cosmic pathways such as science and space.

The planetarium is being constructed on the land of Darbhanga Polytechnic College in an area of about 20922.25 square meters. The first phase of its construction (Bihar Second Planetarium Ready in Darbhanga) has been completed, the second phase is also in the final stage. At the same time, approval has been given by the Nitish cabinet for the creation of 12 posts for monitoring and operating the Planetarium-cum-Science Museum.

The following structures are being constructed under this planetarium-cum-science museum under construction in a total area of 20922.25 sqm:-
• Planetarium with a capacity of 150 people
• Auditorium with a capacity of 300 people
• Orientation Hall with a capacity of 50 people
