CLAT 2020: Application Form, Admit Card, Result etc.

For the Common Law Admission Test i.e. CLAT 2020, the Consortium of National Law Universities has issued a notification informing to postpone the application deadline and CLAT exam and declare new dates. CONSORTIUM OF NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITIES has again extended the last date for filling the CLAT Application Form 2020 from 18 May 2020 to 01 July 2020. Now, candidates can apply for admission in law course by 01 July 2020 and the exam that has to be held on 21 June 2020, has also been postponed.

The application process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2020 has been started from 1 January, 2020. CLAT 2020 application form is in online mode and available at the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in.  Candidates who are 10 + 2 pass can apply for CLAT 2020 exam. CLAT is conducted for admission to LLB and LLM Law courses. This is a national level exam. After passing the CLAT entrance exam, candidates can get admission in any of the 21 National Law Universities (NLUs). You can read this article till the end for more information of CLAT 2020.

Let the candidates know that the CLAT 2020 entrance exam will be of total 2 hours. 150 MCQ questions will be asked in UG entrance exam and in PG entrance exam. See below for more information of CLAT 2020 like eligibility, application, exam pattern, required dates etc.

CLAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for CLAT 2020 entrance exam must check their eligibility criteria before applying.

Educational qualifications:

CLAT Undergraduate LLB

  • Candidates should have 45% marks in class 12th.
  • SC / ST candidates should have 40% marks in 12th standard.
  • Candidates who will appear for the 12th examination in 2020. Those candidates can also apply.
  • Candidates have to produce proof of 12th pass. Otherwise, the National Law University will cancel the application of that candidate.

CLAT Post Graduate LL.M.

  • LLB / must have five integrated LLB (Hons.) / Equivalent degree.
  • Candidates should have 55% marks.
  • SC / ST candidates should have 50% marks.
  • Candidates who take the final year examination can also apply.
  • Candidates have to produce proof of passing. Otherwise, the National Law University will cancel the application of that candidate.

Age limit – The Supreme Court’s decision in 2017 rejected the Bar Council’s attempt to impose an age limit. For CLAT 2020 all age candidates can apply for the exam.

CLAT Application Form 2020

CLAT application forms have been released on the official website of CLAT. Interested candidates applying will have to apply through online mode. CLAT application made by any other means will not be valid. While applying CLAT 2020, candidates have to fill the required information carefully. Students could fill the last date of application till 18 May 2020 which has been extended till 01 July 2020 due to corona infection.

The candidates, who have not yet applied, can complete the application process within the due dates. The candidates who apply, will have to upload some of their required documents along with the application form. Along with applying, candidates will also have to pay the application fee for the CLAT exam. CLAT 2020 will not be considered complete without submission of application fee.

Application fee

  • General, OBC, PDWD – Rs.4000 / –
  • SC and ST – Rs. 3500 / –
  • Application fee has to be deposited through online net banking, credit card, debit card.

CLAT Admit Card 2020

CLAT 2020 admit card will be released on the official website. Candidates will have to enter the registration number to download the CLAT Admit Card 2020. Also, other important information will also have to be entered. Candidates will have to download the admit card and take a printout of it. Students will be able to download the admit card a few days before the exam. Let the candidates know that they will not be allowed to take the exam without the CLAT Admit Card. Entry will be available along with the admit card on the day of CLAT 2020 exam. Admit card will have all necessary information related to the examination center.

  • Candidates will be given a total of 2 hours for the examination.
  • All the questions in the exam will be objective type.
  • Language – English
  • 1 question will be of 1 mark.
  • There will be a total of 150 questions in the exam.
  • There will also be negative marking in the exam. In which 0.25 marks will be deducted if 1 question is wrong.

CLAT Answer Key 2020

Answer Key will be released on the next day of the CLAT 2020 exam. The key will be released in PDF form on the official website of Answer. Candidates can calculate their marks through answer key. After the official answer of CLAT is issued, students can register objections if they are not satisfied with any answer. The last date for filing objections was set to 29 May 2020 which has now been canceled until further orders. Students can register their objection to the answer by visiting the official website within the due date. If your objection is correct, you will be awarded marks for that answer.

CLAT Result 2020

After the CLAT exam, all the candidates will be waiting for the result. Let the candidates know that the candidates will be able to see their CLAT result from official website. Only those candidates, who will pass the examination, will get mention in the result list. The exam results will be released in the month of July / August 2020. After that, 21 National Law University and 40 such universities will be able to participate in the further process of admission for LLB and LLM courses.

CLAT Counseling 2020

After the CLAT Result 2020 is released, candidates will be called for counseling at National Law University. Candidates for CLAT 2020 counseling will be shortlisted on the basis of merit list. After counseling, different NLUs will release the list of selected candidates. Candidates whose name will be in the list, will have to go for admission. It is important to note for the students that while reporting at the time of counseling, they should take all the necessary documents with them. Students who are not able to provide the documents demanded by the institute, their admission can be canceled.

CLAT

The Common Law Admission Test is known as (CLAT). The CLAT is organized by the National Law University. This test is for admission in 21 National Law University (NLU) of India. Apart from this, 43 private institutes also provide admission in undergraduate (UG) and post graduate (PG) law courses based on CLAT score.
